Lucinda’s Contract is a wonderfully erotic romp into 1590 Venice. Nicolas is a rich man portraying a bored aristocrat. He enjoys firing up Lucinda’s temper just to see her angry. Nicolas is such a well developed character that even I fell in love with him. His quick abilities to laugh, play, and be serious all shine through. Lucinda is a funny girl, she is so proper and straight-laced until it comes to sex, then she is just a “give it all ya got” woman. The erotic love making in this book had me running to the freezer for ice quite a few times! The romance, love, though accidental, shines through immediately and once the contract ends, my heart was breaking along with Nicolas and Lucinda’s hearts. Monica M. Martin pens a wonderful story in Lucinda's Contract. Here are two characters with extremely strong wills and equally strong libidos. After a chance encounter at a masquerade ball and a one-night stand, neither one can forget the other and hence Nicolas devises his plan. I loved how Lucinda and Nicolas bickered and baited each other. Ms. Martin has a talent for writing witty dialogue and the events surrounding these two are so engrossing, I found the book impossible to set down for long.The sex is scorching! Lucinda and Nicolas' lust for each other left me flushed and excited. Their love scenes are graphically depicted and wholly satisfying. There is also a scene of very light BDSM that included a third person. The scene is very tastefully handled and it shouldn't deter anyone from this fantastic story.
